Single Tooth Implants

Implants

One missing tooth.
One permanent solution.

Replace a single missing tooth with a titanium implant and custom ceramic crown — the closest thing to a natural tooth.

What It Is

Single Tooth Implants.

A dental implant is a small titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. Once it integrates with your jawbone, a custom ceramic crown is bonded to the top — restoring full function, preserving the surrounding teeth, and helping the jawbone stay healthy long term. It is the most natural, durable replacement for a single missing tooth available in modern dentistry.

  • Titanium implant placed in the jawbone
  • Healing period (typically 3–4 months)
  • Custom ceramic crown bonded to the implant

The Process

From consultation to permanent crown.

The implant is placed in a single visit; the bulk of the timeline is the healing period during which the implant fuses with your jawbone.

01

3D Imaging Consult

A complimentary visit with 3D cone-beam imaging to evaluate the site, bone volume, and surrounding teeth, then plan the precise implant position.

02

Implant Placement

Under local anesthesia (with optional sedation), the titanium implant is placed in the jawbone. Most patients return to normal activities the following day.

03

Crown Delivery

Once the implant has integrated with your jawbone (typically 3–4 months), a custom ceramic crown is bonded — color-matched, shape-matched, indistinguishable.

Common Questions

Single implant answers.

How long does the full process take?

From consultation to final crown, most single implant cases take 3 to 5 months. The implant itself is placed in a single visit; the bulk of the timeline is the healing period during which the implant fuses with your jawbone (osseointegration). The final ceramic crown is fitted once healing is complete.

Is a single implant better than a bridge?

In most cases, yes. A traditional bridge requires Dr. Vivacqua to reduce two healthy neighboring teeth to anchor the bridge — an implant preserves those teeth entirely. Implants also stimulate the jawbone and help prevent the bone loss that occurs when a tooth is missing.

Will the implant look natural?

Yes. The visible portion is a custom ceramic crown designed to match the color, shape, and translucency of your neighboring teeth. Most patients — and even other dentists — cannot tell an implant from a natural tooth.

Is the procedure painful?

The implant placement is performed under local anesthesia, with optional oral or IV sedation. Most patients describe the discomfort afterward as less than a routine extraction and manage it with over-the-counter pain medication for a day or two.

How long do single implants last?

With proper care, the implant itself can last a lifetime. The ceramic crown typically lasts 15 years or more before any replacement is considered. Routine hygiene visits and good home care are essential.
